Starting on leap day, Krispy Kreme will begin to make dreams come alive when they start the frenzy across the US. In other words, Krispy Kreme is going to start bringing doughnuts to homes in 42 states in the U.S. According to USA Today, “More households will soon be able to get delivery as the company plans to add 450 new locations around the world by the end of 2022.”

How to Order

You can order Krispy Kreme’s delicious donuts on their online app that is run by DoorDash, a company that supports many of the large food chains stationed all around the world. Orders that are placed that contain a dozen doughnuts and a cup of coffee have a $4.99 delivery fee from a majority of the 350 locations. To put the cherry on the top, free doughnuts will be shared “… to new parents, doctors, and staff at hospitals within 10 miles of when a baby is delivered and the news is shared on social media.”

You will have to tag the post @KrispyKreme for Twitter or #KrispyKremeSpecialDelivery for Instagram.

Not only can you order doughnuts on the app, but on the website as well. If you type in into a search bar, you will immediately have the option to order doughnuts.

This is going to have a definite impact on Krispy Kreme, both negatively and positively. One benefit to this doughnut phenomenon is that the sales will likely go up significantly. Also, customers may be more interested in buying more than they would regularly be because it is a hassle for some people to drive to a store, pick up the doughnuts and then go home, before they can satisfy their taste buds.

One example of a disadvantage is that some Krispy Kreme stores may go out of business as a result of this new delivery. Not as many people are going to be willing enough to drive to a location, when they can order and enjoy doughnuts in the comfort of their own home.

In short, Krispy Kreme is going to make history by officially releasing their delivery on February 29th. This is going to be a huge change for many people prior to this release. The company’s revenue for 2020 should make a huge jump as a result of this. One thing is for certain; on leap day, people won’t be saying “Happy Leap Day!” they will be saying, “Happy Doughnut Day!”
